A villa by the sea evokes mental images of sun-soaked terraces and an endless sea of blue out of every window. However, the stunning villa Shoestring in Barbados is quite different. Though it is directly along the sands of the famed Mullins Beach, which is part of the opulent Platinum Coast area of the island, it is private due to its screen of lush growth. Swaying palms, native plants and mature trees provide you with generous amounts of privacy and lots of cool shade, while framing the delicate path down to the shore; making this a wonderfully unique find.

A flawless contemporary property, it exudes modern charm and appeal from every corner. You’ll notice this the moment you enter the building; passing over a marble bridge that spans an elegant little koi pond tucked beneath a roofed enclosure, it blends island and Asian inspired themes immaculately. The use of cream colored floors and walls with dark stained wood also balances that Zen-like setting.

The central living spaces is the great room which features an open floor plan that includes a stylish media room with banquette sofa and premium entertainment system, a large lounge and bar area, a welcoming and low-key dining room, and the open air kitchen. A gourmet kitchen, it features a breakfast bar and top of the line appliances. However, you may find you don’t need to visit the kitchen much since this wonderful property is fully staffed with cook, housekeeper and more.

Outside is an abundance of casual lounging and dining spots, including a sun deck, a small garden area and even a private terrace with Jacuzzi tub. The bedrooms are divided between floors. All three are king suites, with the master suite opening to its own garden level terrace furnished as an al fresco lounge and it is here that you find that opulent little hot tub. The other suites are upstairs and offer wonderful views, spacious bedrooms and large, private baths.

  • Cancellation Policy: For cancellations greater than 60 days prior to arrival, 35% of gross rental rate is forfeited. For cancellation between 45 to 59 days of arrival, 60% of gross rental is forfeited. Cancellation less than 45 days, 100% of gross rental is forfeited. Please note all Christmas and New Years reservations are non-refundable.

SPECIAL NOTICE

Covid-19 : Modified Cancellation Policy

For new bookings confirmed up to 31 May 2020 with travel dates during the Low Season 2020, the property manager is modifying the cancellation policy as follows :
~ If guests cancel the reservation more than 14 days prior to the arrival, 10% of the Gross Rental will be forfeited.
~ If guests cancel the reservation within 14 days of the arrival date, 100% of the Gross Rental will be forfeited.
